A CARDIO routine is one of best ways to lose weight, and get in shape. Ask anybody what the best cardio workout is, you'll get a different answer for every person you'll ask. Simply put, the best cardio workout you can do, is one that you enjoy doing, and will do consistently and at least 3 times per week. Running, sprinting, spinning, swimming, climbing...it does necessarliy matter, as long as you are consistent in your routine.

Currently, there are 2 schools of thought regarding how you should perform your cardio routine. One school of thought is that your workouts should be of a long duration (40 mins or longer), and at a slow and steady pace. These workouts will focus on buring fat, and not carbs or calories, and will be much more forgiving on your joints. Examples of these workouts are lap swimming, brisk walking or rowing. The other school of thought says your cardio routines should be fast paced, high-intensity workouts, and of a short duration (15 mins to 25 mins). These workouts will focus on burning huge amounts of calories and carbs, but will usually be a higher impact, anaerobic workouts. You will be sweaty, tired, and drained at the end of these sessions. Examples of these workouts include; sprint drills, H.I.I.T training (High Intensity Interval Training), and spinning classes.

Whichever style for cardio routine you chose, make sure you are having fun, and are consistently exercising throughout the week.
